To all DofE Centre Coordinators:

DofE Head Office will increase the price of Participation places for Operating Authorities from 1st April 2013: Bronze and Silver places will increase by £1.00 and the cost of Gold will increase by £2.00.

As you are aware in Oxfordshire, we add a levy of £5.00 per participation place to help cover the cost of the Operating Authority Licence, subsidise training and help towards the replacement of loan equipment from the County store and other running costs. Therefore, you need to continue to build this into your costs when buying places or setting an overall cost to participants for a particular level.
  • Bronze and Silver places will be £15 plus £5 levy = £20.00
  • Gold places will be £22 plus £5 levy = £27.00
Please remember that for disadvantaged young people you can apply for free places from the SE Regional Office with the support of the Area Development Workers.

Finally, due to the increasing cost of providing assessment services, the cost of vouchers for a wild country network assessor will rise by £5 to £90 for Gold, £70 for Silver and £50 for Bronze (these are paid directly to the relevant Network via the voucher scheme). (Please remember that we offer subsidised Assessor training and validation for £25 per participant to enable groups to reduce these costs, in line with Assessor rules.)
